Our Students' Achievements

Spelling Bee

Over the last few months, many of our students at La Citadelle have been studying and preparing for the Spelling Bee of Canada North York East division competition. On Saturday, April 24, 2010. Our students were ready and eager to compete. I am so proud of all the students who competed and did their best. They are all winners!

In the Primary Division, Sara Pfeffer in grade 3 beat out over 60 other students to take first place. She will move on to the next level on Sunday, May 16, 2010, which will be televised on Rogers television. Honorable mentions go to our other Primary Division competitors: Justin Anderson, Borna Gholampour, Sameer Jessa, and Jasmine Line in grade 2. In grade 3, there were Cameron Homer, Kamil Bachouchi, and Nelia Taraneh Fadavi.

In our Junior Division, honorable mentions go out to: Apostole Mallis, Michelle Visaretis, Jessica Satei, Kimia Mirshokrai, Thomas David Gaudet, and Davis Braithwaite in grade 4. In our Intermediate Division, our sole competitor edged out over 25 other students in his group to come in fourth place. Congratulations goes out to Tahsim Ahmed in grade 7.

Congratulations to all those who worked so hard. I am very proud of you.

Canadian Mathematics Competitions

In order to provide enrichment and challenges for students who have a strong interest and ability in Mathematics in upper grades, we have decided to form La Citadelle Math Club. In addition to the many pedagogical objectives of the Club, the students have prepared to participate in National Math Olympiads and Contests.
