Intermediary and Secondary School students recently returned from La Citadelle’s annual international March Break trip. This year, students explored Ireland and Scotland as part of an 8 day educational tour. Utilizing embedded I.B. practices, such “learning in context(s)” and “conceptual understanding,” students and teachers were able to explore a variety of interdisciplinary forums, from historical connections with Irish / Scottish history and its impact on the intellectual and scientific pursuits of the Enlightenment, to the rich array of language and literature from various Nobel Prize winners, to the physics of shipbuilding at Belfast Titantic. Students also had time to socialize and casually explore the cities of Dublin, Belfast, and Edinburgh – culminating in an unforgettable educational and travel experience for both teachers and students alike. Is maith an scéalaí an aimsir!
